<p>Trying to use different external themes for categories. For instance have one style sheet set for default but want front page to look different so have created a different style sheet and a front: category that I want to assign that style sheet to. Can't assign the different style to the subcategory, chooses one of the installed themes instead (i think bloo).</p> <p>I think this is a bug because this is something I was able to do in wikidot.com relatively easily.</p>

<p>New installation of Wikidot.org here for an academic institution that will user the site for classes, symposia, research and other uses. There are a number of places where I am getting dialog boxes with exposed HTML code that don't do anything rather than the appropriate page opening. They are at the following places:</p> <p>When I go to look at/edit my profile under My Account.<br /> When I go to Send Email Invitations in the admin section.<br /> When I go to activate the forum (in this case it is not HTML that appears but simply the url of the site I am working on and I cannot get the forum to activate.</p>

<p>I just ran into an issue with my server at work when trying to save a page with a pretty large &quot;complex&quot; table ([[table]]&#8230;[[row]]..[[cell]]&#8230;[[/cell]]&#8230;[[/row]]&#8230;[[/table]]). If I reduce the size of the table, I can eventually get the page to save.</p> <p>It seems like the the parser can't handle that amount of &quot;wiki syntax&quot; at once. I have pages with a lot more characters, but not as much wiki markup.</p> <p>On the Pro site a similar error was reported and fixed (<a href="http://pro.wikidot.com/ticket:241" target="_blank">http://pro.wikidot.com/ticket:241</a>)</p> <p>Can you share what the fix was so I can try it on my server?</p> <p>Thanks,<br /> Ed</p>

<description>including a flash menu works perfectly on all browsers except IE6 because of this</description>

					<![CDATA[
<p>(this is a posting of a message that I posted at wikidot.com, I'm sort of desperate&#8230;)</p> <p>I am trying to insert a flash generated menu bar in the top of my wiki site. I am using iframe to do it, and it works perfectly on Safari, Firefox, and IE 7. You can see it here on this test page, under the top graphic (there is also still the normal wiki top menu bar as well, which I would remove later):</p> <p><a href="http://karma-lab.wikidot.com/sandbox:menubar-test">http://karma-lab.wikidot.com/sandbox:menubar-test</a></p> <p>It uses swfobject.js with a setting of wmode = transparent to embed the flash menu bar, inside the html file that is [[iframed]] (source is included below).</p> <p>The problem is that in IE6, the iframe is NOT transparent, it has a white background, completely covering the page for about 300 pixels down.</p> <p>If I use the &quot;IE DOM Inspector&quot; plug-in in IE6 to &quot;live edit&quot; the html being displayed, the only thing that works is to add allowTransparency=&quot;true&quot; to the &lt;iframe&gt; tag. Instantly, the iframe is transparent and it works as expected.</p> <p>However, there seems to be no way to actually influence the setting of this from within wikidot, or from the CSS sheet. allowTransparency seems to be an html only parameter, and it is not one of the ones that wikidot allows to be set using [[iframe]]. As you can see from the source below, I try to set it in multiple different places in the CSS file and the wiki source, just for the heck of it.</p> <p>Any way to get around this? I'd really like to use this flash top menu, but if it can't work on IE 6, I think I have to bag it. Sad, after spending like two days figuring out how to get this far. Here's my source:</p> <p>The test page in the wiki:</p> <div class="code"> <pre><code>[[div class=&quot;menubar-wrapper&quot;]] [[iframe http://www.mydomain.com/flashobj/wiki-menubar_nt.html class=&quot;menubar-iframe&quot; frameborder=&quot;0&quot; scrolling=&quot;no&quot; width=&quot;668&quot; height=&quot;300&quot; allowTransparency=&quot;true&quot;]] [[/div]]</code></pre></div> <p>The iframed file:</p> <div class="code"> <pre><code>&lt;!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC &quot;-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN&quot; &quot;http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd&quot;&gt; &lt;html xmlns=&quot;http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml&quot;&gt; &lt;head&gt; &lt;meta http-equiv=&quot;Content-Type&quot; content=&quot;text/html; charset=UTF-8&quot; /&gt; &lt;title&gt;Untitled Document&lt;/title&gt; &lt;style type=&quot;text/css&quot; media=&quot;all&quot;&gt;&lt;!-- #menubar { } --&gt;&lt;/style&gt; &lt;script type=&quot;text/javascript&quot; src=&quot;/flashobj/swfobject.js&quot;&gt;&lt;/script&gt; &lt;script type=&quot;text/javascript&quot;&gt; function changeSize(id, value) { document.getElementById(id).style.height = value + 'px'; } &lt;/script&gt; &lt;/head&gt; &lt;body&gt; &lt;div id=&quot;menubar&quot; style=&quot;height:30px; width:668px; left:0px; top:0px; position:absolute; margin:auto; overflow:hidden;&quot; onmouseover=&quot;changeSize('menubar', 300);&quot; onmouseout=&quot;changeSize('menubar', 30);&quot;&gt; MenuBar &lt;script type=&quot;text/javascript&quot;&gt; var swf100 = new SWFObject(&quot;wiki-topmenu.swf&quot;, &quot;MenuBar&quot;, &quot;668&quot;, &quot;300&quot;, &quot;7.0.22&quot;, &quot;#000000&quot;, true) swf100.addParam(&quot;scaleMode&quot;,&quot;noscale&quot;); swf100.addParam(&quot;align&quot;,&quot;TL&quot;); swf100.addParam(&quot;allowScriptAccess&quot;,&quot;sameDomain&quot;); swf100.addParam(&quot;wmode&quot;, &quot;transparent&quot;); swf100.write(&quot;menubar&quot;) &lt;/script&gt; &lt;/div&gt; &lt;/body&gt; &lt;/html&gt;</code></pre></div> <p>The applicable CSS:</p> <div class="code"> <pre><code>.menubar-iframe { allowTransparency:true; } .menubar-wrapper { allowTransparency:true; height:30px; width:668px; overflow:visible; position:absolute; top:94px; left:250px; right:0px; margin-right:auto; margin-left:auto; z-index:200; } .menubar-wrapper p { margin:0px; allowTransparency:true; }</code></pre></div>

<title>Problem with global IP block list for wikidot.com</title>
				<link>http://org.wikidot.com/forum/t-54136/problem-with-global-ip-block-list-for-wikidot-com</link>
<description>A co-administrator for our wikidot.com site seems to have been globally IP-blocked yesterday, perhaps because you blocked some entire subnet?</description>
				<pubDate>Thu, 17 Apr 2008 12:28:24 +0000</pubDate>
				<wikidot:authorName>shannong</wikidot:authorName> <wikidot:authorUserId>104013</wikidot:authorUserId> <content:encoded>
					<![CDATA[
<p>The co-administrator of one of my wikis seems to have been suddenly blocked from all access to anything to do with Wikidot.com about 2 hours ago (as of this timestamp). I fear that perhaps his IP address might have been added to the Global IP Block List mentioned in our sites Site Manger pages, but there seems to be no way to check the Global IP Block List.</p> <p>This person is in no way, shape, or form a spammer of any sort. I've advised him to send an email to your support address, but in the future is there some way to troubleshoot issues like this by checking whether somebody has been added to the Global IP Block List before bothering Wikidot support?</p> <hr /> <p>More information on this problem. I had my partner do a traceroute from his computer, and compared it to a traceroute from my own computer (I can successfully see all of wikidot.com, but he cannot).</p> <p>It looks like your wikidot.com servers are hosted by some 3rd party datacenter in Dallas, TX, USA. In my successful traceroute to our specific wiki URL, the destination machine is as2-1.s.wikidot.com, and the router immediately before it is po1.fcr03.dal01.dallas-datacenter.com. (And there are a few more dallas.datacenter.com router hops before those last two.)</p> <p>In my partner's traceroute, he's getting 100% packet loss at the next hop immediately after po1.fcr03.dal01.dallas-datacenter.com, which means his ping packets (and all other packets, apparently) are being rejected by as2-1.s.wikidot.com. But all my packets, including ping packets, are getting through to that server just fine.</p> <p>This would seem to conclusively indicate that either his specific IP address or perhaps a subnet address that contains his specific IP address is being globally blocked by wikidot.com. He's on a Verizon network in New Jersey, USA. Did you recently add some Verizon subnet to your Global IP Block List to deal with some spammer originating from that network?</p>

<p>I tried logging in today to make a couple of replies. I'm using Opera 9.25 for Windows XP Home Edition.<br /> When I first opened the login box, my opera wand recognized it and all I had to do was press the wand<br /> in order to quickly log in, as I've done it on that site before. However, at my first try, I was met with<br /> this message:</p> <blockquote> <p>&lt;www.wikidot.com&gt;<br /> Error processing the request.<br /> You have no valid security token which is required to prevent identity theft.<br /> Please enable cookies in your browser if you have this option disabled and reload the page.</p> </blockquote> <p>Notice that it says wikidot.<strong>com</strong>, not org.</p> <p>I then tried logging into wikidot.com first. Worked without a hitch. Then I went over to the .org-site, but to my surprise, I was not logged in. I guess wikidot.org is not a part of the wikidot.com community huh. May I ask why?<br /> Also, I don't recall whether I had to regsiter anew when I first started browsing the .org-site, or if I could just use my standard login.</p> <p>Well, I then gave it a second try, manually writing in the login info instead of using the wand function.<br /> This is what I got:</p> <blockquote> <p>&lt;www.wikidot.com&gt;<br /> wikidot.com security error:<br /> Your authentication token in the request is not valid. Please enable cookies in your browser and try to repeat the action.<br /> If you see this message on the page not associated with the wikidot.com wiki hosting it probably means an indentity theft attempt or improper use of wikidot.com service.</p> </blockquote> <p>I never managed to login again with Opera from this computer (will try another one later today). Right now I'm using IE.</p>
